Being the newest food vendor at the Castle Terrace Market has been a blast! The weather on Saturday could not have been better for our debut and the Market’s 15th Anniversary celebration, plus the castle was looking extra alluring.
All of the producers were local and excited to be there. We used buffalo from The Buffalo Farm who were serving up BBQ a few stalls down, ran to Phantassie‘s stall when we ran out of mixed leaves and rocket, and bought goat’s cheese from Arran Cheese.
Our menu celebrated the best of early summer:
Breakfast – toast or porridge with jam we made from Craigies Farm’s strawberries and rhubarb
Fresh Frittata- broccoli and smoked Barwhey cheddar or chicken, bacon and mushroom
Buffalo Chilli – bacon, black beans & bread roll
Soup – carrot and courgette
Roasted Beetroot Salad – rocket & goats cheese
And this week, the market happens to fall on the 4th of July! For our American friends, this means Independence Day and American-themed food for everyone.
